Our Davao City Field Trip

We have 3 times for a vacation trip in Davao

TRIP WITH THE BUDDIES

First place of trip is Museo Dabawenyo

Our first trip started on September 23, 2023 by traveling around Davao city and visiting Museo Dabawenyo with our buddies (Abby, Mech, and Rudolf). This trip was not only the University of Lambung Mangkurat team who participated in it but I was also with my colleagues from the University of Pendidikan Indonesia and University of Bengkulu.


While visiting the Davao Museum, we learned many things such as historical objects related to Davao city, we also learned how the history of Davao city used to be, and we also tried to play traditional musical instruments from Davao city.

    
     

     

Next trip is to Ramon Maagsaysay Park

Before continuing our journey to the next place, we visited a cafe to rest and hang out for a while.

 

On the same date we went to Ramon Magsaysay Park, unlike most parks, here we were able to see various national statues and monuments, here we also saw traditional Filipino houses. We could also rent bicycles and play there. Ramon Magsaysay Park also has a beautiful view of the sea.

    

    

After that, we went to Roxas for dinner, and then around the city with our buddies.
    

Going To Eden Park!

On September 30, 2023, the second week we visited the Garden of Eden, we went with students from the University of Education Indonesia, our buddies (Abby and Mech), and Mrs. Loli.

We started our tour with a car ride guided by a tour guide. We wandered around the place and stopped at some iconic areas in the Garden of Eden to take some photos. Eden Garden is a natural garden so it has a cozy, peaceful, cool atmosphere, and i can say Eden Park is the best healing place for those of us who are always busy with the hustle and bustle of the city.
    
    
    

Sammal Island Time

The last destination is Sammal Island. We went there on October 7, 2023. We went together with Sir Rene and Pyae. Our last trip was really the best, where we could see the beauty of the sea directly, we swam, snorkeled, rode a dragon boat, we even explored one of the islands there. In one day it was like being in the world of One Piece. We had lunch on the boat with various seafood-based meals such as fresh tuna, shrimp, and seaweed. We had so much fun that we lost track of time. Sammal Island is one of the best parts of a Davao City adventure.

My Closing Ceremony

 Unforgettable Closing Ceremony The closing ceremony was held on October 13, 2023, the day before returning to Indonesia. The closing ceremony was held at the UIC Bonifacio campus. In the ceremony, we delivered our messages and impressions, and expressed our gratitude to the University of the Immaculate Conception for accepting, helping, and facilitating us during our internship here. We also performed a musical drama about Indonesian traditional culture, especially the Banjar culture. We performed various cultures such as traditional dances, pencak silat and kuntau performances, and singing folk songs, I performed singing various folk songs from Indonesia. After that, we received certificates as proof that we had completed our internship for approximately 1 month at UIC. The certificate was handed over directly by ma'am Helene and Sir Rene. 1. School: General Information and Academic Administration

School: General Information and Academic Administration School Profile The University of the Immaculate Conception or UIC began in 1905. UIC is an institution of higher learning administered by the Religiosity of the Virgin Mary in Davao City, Davao del Sur, Philippines.   After my observation, I learned that there are 3 separate buildings, namely the Fr Selga campus (main campus), Bonifacio campus and Bajada campus (basic education). During this program, I stay at the women's dormitory of the Fr. Selga (main campus) campus, together with my colleagues (Emma and Zulfah). While my male colleague (Hadad) stayed at the UIC Hotel in Fr. Selga (main campus).  As for the dormitories, they have a rule where at 9pm you have to be in the dormitory because all gates and doors will be locked. The facilities are quite satisfactory, we even get a separate kitchen to honor us who are Muslim. The distance between the dormitory and the internship site takes about 30 to 40 minutes.
