My Cooperative Teacher

My Coopertive Teacher "Ms. Nora Jovina Albores" 

 

During our time as SEA Teachers, we will have our own cooperative teacher. My cooperative teacher is Miss Nora Jovina Albores or can be called Miss Albores. Miss Albores is the Personal Development teacher in grade 12. 
       
Miss Albores is really like my mother in Davao because she is very kind, always looking out for me, and helping me. At the beginning of the meeting I was very reluctant with her, and I felt a bit shy because I was not confident with my English, but Miss Albores convinced me that I could do it. After getting to know her more closely, Miss Albores is really a very nice person, she always gives constructive feedback and suggestions to improve my skills. During my internship at UIC, I felt a little stressed because I had never had any direct teaching experience, but Miss Albores patiently helped me and taught me how to be a good teacher. I feel very lucky and very helpful to have Miss Albores as my Teacher Service Consultant (CT).

School: General Information and Academic Administration School Profile The University of the Immaculate Conception or UIC began in 1905. UIC is an institution of higher learning administered by the Religiosity of the Virgin Mary in Davao City, Davao del Sur, Philippines.   After my observation, I learned that there are 3 separate buildings, namely the Fr Selga campus (main campus), Bonifacio campus and Bajada campus (basic education). During this program, I stay at the women's dormitory of the Fr. Selga (main campus) campus, together with my colleagues (Emma and Zulfah). While my male colleague (Hadad) stayed at the UIC Hotel in Fr. Selga (main campus).  As for the dormitories, they have a rule where at 9pm you have to be in the dormitory because all gates and doors will be locked. The facilities are quite satisfactory, we even get a separate kitchen to honor us who are Muslim. The distance between the dormitory and the internship site takes about 30 to 40 minutes. 3. Teaching Plan

Curriculum Through observation, I found that UIC uses the K-12 curriculum and my cooperative teacher created lesson plans according to the curriculum guidelines. In addition, there are some elements in the lesson plans that have been added to this school. For example, the "Integration" section of the lesson plan. Its function is for students to always relate their learning topics to the surrounding environment as well as their religion. Teaching Plan (Related to My Major)         My major is Sociology Education. During my internship here I teach subject Social Development with the HUMSS group, I make lesson plans according to the sequence of materials in the current semester.
